Upgrade or Downgrade to any iOS version with Prometheus Tool

64-Bit Devices Only!

iOS10.1.1

It’s been a few months that iOS 10 was released and just a few days ago we heard news about possible jailbreak of iOS 10. According to the hacker, he said that he will be releasing the jailbreak for iOS 10.1.1 so, it is recommended to downgrade to iOS 10.1.1. right now so you will be able to jailbreak as soon as it is released.

Now, that we are waiting for the jailbreak of iOS 10.1.1, an iOS hacker announced that he will be releasing his Prometheus tool in coming days. According to him, this tool will allow the users to downgrade or upgrade to any version of iOS that is no longer signed by Apple and this tool will be for 64-Bit devices(iPhone 5s and above).

Prometheus tool will work only if you have SHSH blobs saved for that specific version of iOS that you want to upgrade or downgrade. The blobs must be saved in .shsh2 format so they can work with Prometheus tool. This can be done by using tsschecker tool. Read more about it on Reddit how you can do it by using tsschecker.

This tool will be very useful for those who want to remain on iOS 9.3 jailbreak and upgrade when iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak is released. For users that are on iOS 10.2, they should downgrade soon before the signing window closes because a device needs to be jailbroken to upgrade or downgrade to any version of iOS that is no longer signed by Apple.

The release date for this tool isn’t yet confirmed but it will most likely release at either end of 2016 or at the start of 2017.
