Samsung Gear S3 classic has an ordinary analogue watch look and has a stainless steel body alongside with metallic buttons next to the rotating bezel. The design of the Gear S3 classic is mostly the same as the Gear S2 and Gear S3 Classic will be good to show-off in meetings mostly.
On the other hand, the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is targeted mostly for fitness. The Gear S3 Frontier has a slighty larger bezel alongside with rectangular-textured buttons and also weighs more than the classic which weighs 57 g while frontier weighs 62g.
All the versions of the Samsung Gear S3 have IP68 water and dust resistant certification and Samsung claim that they have tested these watches under military conditions and they can easily withstand high/low temperature, shocks and dust.
The Samsung Gear S3 will feature a 1.3-inch screen Super AMOLED display with a 46mm body and with a resolution of 360×360 px with always on screen and Corning Gorilla SR+ for protection. The Gear S3’s will have Tizen OS with a dual-core 1GHz processor along with 758MB of RAM and LTE connectivity.It will also have improved battery capacity of 380 mAh from the previous 250 mAh of Gear S2 and would be able to easily run about 3-4 days. A very useful feature in the Gear S3 is the built-in GPS which will unlock a new SOS mode that uses location tracking to alert family, friends when you are in an emergency.
With the latest version of Tizen OS installed, the users would be able to to write or draw on the display to respond to any of the messages or you can also create short reminders. Samsung also claimed that Tizen OS will have 10,000 apps and it will include famous apps like Spotify, Uber and Samsung Pay.
Samsung Pay will be also available on the Gear S3 and the users will be able to easily pay with their Gear S3. It will be using NFC and MST technologies to do so.
Price and Release Date:
Samsung hasn’t yet given a confirm date about the release date of Gear S3 or about the price of it but it will be available in the coming months and will only work with the Android devices. iOS devices aren’t yet supported but Samsung hope to bring iOS support in future.
