Smartphones have made our lives simpler and easier and we can perform a lot of functions with a single device. Take for instance voice recording. We can easily record anything with the help of our smartphones.
iPhone also allows you to record anything but it has some drawbacks and it may alert the other person that you are recording something on your iPhone which they won’t like. So, to make it easier, a new jailbreak tweak called discreetVoiceMemos makes the Voice Memo app completely discreet and anonymous by removing two features from the app.
One being the status bar being red when the recording starts and other being the View of the Waveform in the LockScreen. These two things make it visible for anyone to see that you are actually recording something on your iPhone.
So, discreetVoiceMemos completely makes the Voice Memo app anonymous by removing these two features of the app. So, the next time when you will start recording something then there will be no sound played which used to play when the recording starts.
The status bar which used to be red after recording started would be just normal and won’t show any sign of you recording anything and also the Waveform pattern which used to be displayed on the Lock Screen when you were recording something won’t be shown again.
After you install the tweak, it adds a preferences pane to the Settings App from where the options of the tweak are configurable. The tweak can also be enabled or disabled from there. No Respring is required after making changes, just close the Voice Memos app and re-open it again for changes to take place. The tweak also has two additional options:
- Enable Playing in Background
- Enable Blue Tints
If you are interested in the idea of this tweak and want to give it a try then you can download and install discreetVoiceMemos from Cydia’s BigBoss Repo. It is available for free and is compatible with iOS 8, iOS 9 and iOS 10 Jailbroken devices.
