Asus Zenfone 3 Review
Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom:
The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom has a rear camera with the optical zoom like last year’s Zenfone Zoom smartphone. This time Asus went with dual-camera and the optical zoom is decreased to 2.3X as compared to 3X of last year in Zenfone Zoom. The concept is like that of Apple iPhone 7 Plus and the smartphone uses both lenses to work and a bokeh effect to focus on the subject and blurring the background.
The smartphone has two 12 MP lens. Zoom is fixed on one 12 MP lens and the other 12 MP lens is wide-angle 1/2.5″ unit with f/1.7 aperture and Sony’s IMX362 sensor. Both of the lenses have 1.4nm pixels with Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization and they also have the ability to capture 4K video. The lenses have a focus time of 0.03 even with the subject moving. This fast focus time is due to three modes of focusing; Dual Pixel phase detection, laser, and continuous.
The smartphone will 7.8mm thin and will weigh 170g. The phone will feature a 5.5′ inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and Snapdragon 625 chipset with a massive 5,000 mAh battery. The phone will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is kind of disappointing and the phone will be available in February 2017.
Asus Zenfone AR
The Asus Zenfone AR is the second handset that was announced today by Asus at CES 2017 and it will be the second smartphone ever to support Google Tango which is Augmented Reality (AR) system. After the Lenovo Phab2 Pro which was released in 2016, it will be the other smartphone to support this system but Asus goes one step ahead of Lenovo and Asus Zenfone AR supports Google Daydream too which is built into Android 7.0 Nougat. So, with Zenfone Ar you can either go into Augmented reality or Virtual reality depending what you like better. Although you can’t use both of them at the same time. You can Daydream apps when it is in Daydream VR headset and Tango apps when it is inside Tango AR headset.
- Zenfone Dual
- 4g Zenfone
The Asus Zenfone AR will have a 5.7′ inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED Display and will be powered by last year’s latest Snapdragon 821 chipset and with massive 8GB of RAM – World’s first smartphone to have 8GB of RAM. The rear camera is 23 MP with Sony’s IMX362 sensor, Optical Image Stabilization, and Electronic Image Stabilization and also has the ability to capture 4K video. On the back, there is also a motion tracking camera and fisheye camera too.
The company said that the Asus Zenfone AR will come out in Q2 of this year so, it will be released in either April, May or June.
