Android Nougat Rolling Out to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Good News for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users. Certain reports show that Samsung is now officially rolling out the Android Nougat(7.0) to all the unlocked S7 and S7 Edge devices. This update is not exclusively for only those users who signed for the beta program in last December but is for everyone and update is rolling out to everyone.

For users that already had the beta version, the update will be about 214 MB and for users that weren’t in the beta, the update will be of larger size. The official changelog number is NDRD90M.G935FXXU1DPLT and it will bring only the Android 7.0 not 7.1.1 which is the latest version of Android N. Following changes can be noticed after installing the new update:

  • New User experience design(UX)
  • Better adoption of the Multi-Window Feature
  • Better adoption of Notifications and Quick Settings button
  • Improved Settings Menu and New features for Always-on Display
  • Improvements in System speed and storage usage

The Android Nougat latest January Security patches will also be included with this update.

Beta Users are getting the update before the normal users but it will be soon available to available and it will be available for unlocked devices first and carrier based devices will have to as the update will come with some other software and improvements that require more time for testing.
